Yokohama Begins OE Tire Production In Russia

yokohama-logoProduction of OE tires for passenger cars has begun at Yokohama Rubber Co.’s Russian tire facility LLC Yokohama R.P.Z.

Yokohama said that it launched OE production in response to a direct request from Nissan Russia. The automobile maker reported that it is curtailing its use of tires produced in other countries.

Currently, Yokohama’s facility is producing Geolandar G91 tires for Nissan X-Trail SUVs and BluEarth E75 tires for Nissan Teana sedans made at Nissan Motor Corp.’s local facility Nissan Manufacturing Russia.

According to Yokohama, the tiremaker had only dedicated itself to the production of replacement tires in Russia before this agreement with Nissan. The tiremaker noted that the addition of OE tires to the subsidiary’s product line should help raise awareness of the Yokohama brand in Russia.
